Merry Mission Fair
This is our largest money-raiser for mission projects and our largest mission education event during the year. Each November, on the Sunday afternoon before Thanksgiving, in our Fellowship Hall, informative booths are set up by many charitable agencies. Some booths sell items to benefit their own program. Brochures and informational materials and a person representing the agency will be there to answer questions.
A light supper is offered for a minimal cost. Children's activities are enjoyed by the children and their parents. There are wares to be purchased at the Country Craft table and the Kitchen Corner. There is a Silent Auction with new and old unusual gifts shown. In recent years there has been a grand "push" to have fine crafts made by our members.
Mission funds earned by the Merry Mission Fair help to support volunteer-in-mission trips and many other mission projects of the church.
Chili for Chile
This chili cook-off is held in January to support our volunteer-in-mission trips to Santiago, Chile. Sunday School Classes, UMW circles, groups and individuals all make pots of chili to be tasted by judges. Plaques are awarded for the Best Chili, the Most Unique Chili, and for Showmanship. The chili supper following the contest is priced reasonably and is enjoyed by many.
