Rice Depot Volunteer Days

Rice Depot Volunteer Days are every fourth Saturday of each month. We travel to Rice Depot in Little Rock to work for the morning. Meet the group in the parking lot of the church to leave by 7:45 a.m. Everyone should see the work done by Rice Depot as they fight hunger in Arkansas. Children ages 8-10 and over are welcome.

Angel Trees

Angel Trees are displayed each Christmas holiday. These Christmas trees are decorated with tags showing a name, a gift preference and sizes. We have two kinds of trees - one with angel tags furnished by the Salvation Army for seniors in Faulkner County who have no family or will have no gift except for an Angel Tree. The second tree is for CASA kids, children who are in the court system or are foster children and work with the Court Appointed Special Advocate program of Faulkner County. Gifts are purchased for the angel you take, gift-wrapped, and returned to the church by the deadline date to be delivered to the Angel for Christmas. With this program, we truly honor the birthday of Jesus and show our concern for the family of God.

Ozark Mission Project

Ozark Mission Project is a hands-on work project in Arkansas whereby youth and adults work to repair homes, build wheelchair ramps, cut brush, and generally assist families in need of help. Camps are scattered all over Arkansas and meet in the summer months. This program needs the help of both youth and adults of the church. Stock is sold annually to promote and support this ministry. For more information, visit www.ozarkmissionproject.org.

Red Cross Blood Drives

Red Cross Blood Drives are held with a mobile Red Cross unit in our parking lot twice each year, usually in March and October. Save a life - give blood. Our Church and Society Committee sponsors the blood drives.

CASA School Supplies Collection

School supplies are collected late each summer for the school semester about to open for Court Appointed Special Advocates. CASA works with many children and youth who are in foster homes and need school supplies that their foster families cannot afford to purchase. CASA kids have enough concern without needing school supplies. Containers are furnished around the church for collection of the supplies. Lists are furnished of the most needed items. Our Mission Committee sponsors the school supply collection. Some school supplies are also kept at the church for requests received from Food Pantry clients and others..

Arkansas Area Ingathering

The Arkansas Area sponsors each year in the month of November. Items in bulk will be collected and taken to a District Ingathering the week before the State Ingathering held at Rice Depot. A report is written by each church showing their giving to mission, above and beyond apportionments. Items to be collected include:

Terry cloth hand towels (no kitchen towels)

Metal nail files or fingernail clippers (no emery board or toenail clippers)

Children's blunt scissors

Pencil sharpeners (plain, small individual sharpeners with no emblems)

Baby sweaters

Cloth baby diapers (cloth only)

Ruled paper (pad, spiralĀ or looseleaf)

Baby gowns or sleepers

School bags (finished size 14 inches by 16 inches)
