Music Ministries for Adults
First Service Singers
A small ensemble (typically 8-12 singers), the First Service Singers lead the 8:45 congregation in song. Rehearsals are at 8:00 a.m. each Sunday in the Choir Room. Repertoire is mostly two or three part, and we sing a lot from the hymnal. New members are always welcome in this small but dedicated fellowship!
The Chancel Choir provides choral leadership at the 11:00 a.m. service. Rehearsals are Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. We have about 35 members, ranging from professional musicians to music-lovers. This high energy choir sings each Sunday and at several special services and programs throughout the year. Repertoire is very varied, and new members are always welcome.
The Praise Band leads our 9:00 a.m. Good News Celebration in the Great Hall. Vocalists, instrumentalists and audio/visual assistants are always needed. For more information, contact our Praise Band Director, Nick Garrison, via email at email@example.com or our Director of Music and Worship Ministries, Janet Gingerich, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Adult Handbell Choirs
Chancel Ringers is a choir of experienced ringers, playing five octaves of bells. Rehearsals are Monday evenings at 6:45 p.m.. The group plays monthly in worship and in special programs throughout the year. Experienced ringers should contact our Director of Music and Worship, Janet Gingerich, via email at email@example.com for more information.
“Bells of Grace,” a bell choir for new or less experienced ringers, meets Mondays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Please contact our Director of Music and Worship, Janet Gingerich, via email at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information about this group, which is always eager to welcome new members!
Instrumentalists of all ages and levels of experience are invited to make themselves known to the Director of Music and Worship Ministries. We like to use a wide variety of instruments in worship, individually or in ensembles, and in many situations – so there is sure to be an opportunity to share your talents.
The function of the Music Committee is to support the music program and musicians by assisting with “non-musical” tasks. Members typically help by coordinating receptions for special events, moving equipment, helping with fund-raisers, writing thank you notes or newspaper articles. New members are welcome to join the committee any time. For more information, contact our Director of Music and Worship Ministries, Janet Gingerich, via email at email@example.com.
